Lamb of God

Being an avid animal lover, when I learned that Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice for our sins so that we can spend eternity with God, I was deeply moved. Before Jesus became the perfect Lamb of God, the Israelites sacrificed animals that were without blemish to make atonement for their sins. Now that is not required, as Jesus’ blood replaces the need for those sacrifices once and for all. I cannot begin to imagine the pain and suffering Christ endured on the cross, but I am overwhelmingly grateful that He did so that I can have a personal relationship with the living God and eternal life in heaven and on the new earth, where all will be made perfect as it was intended to be. (John 1:29)
